• GSTN (Goods and Services Tax Network) has introduced the e-Invoice Exemption Declaration functionality on the e-Invoice portal.
  • This feature is intended for taxpayers who are required to implement e-invoicing but are exempted from doing so as per the provisions of the CGST Rules.
  • The e-Invoice Exemption Declaration is a voluntary process and can be accessed through the e-Invoice portal at www.einvoice.gst.gov.in.
  • Using this functionality, taxpayers can declare their exemption status without affecting their e-Invoice enablement status.
  • The responsibility of deciding whether the taxpayer qualifies for exemption based on various Government-issued Notifications lies with the taxpayer.
  • The facility to report the exemption declaration is provided solely for the purpose of business facilitation.
