E Way Bill

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the National Informatics Centre’s (NIC) E-Way Bill 2 Portal on June 1, 2024. Accessible at https://ewaybill2.gst.gov.in, this new portal will complement the existing main portal (https://ewaybillgst.gov.in), offering enhanced reliability, high availability, and seamless synchronization. This will ensure a more efficient e-way bill management system for taxpayers and logistic operators.

Key Highlights of the E-Way Bill 2 Portal

Comprehensive Services and Gradual Expansion

Currently, the E-Way Bill 2 Portal offers critical e-way bill services. Over time, it will expand to include more functionalities, providing comprehensive support for all e-way bill needs.

Independent Generation and Updating

The new portal allows independent generation and updating of e-way bills. This flexibility ensures uninterrupted operations even if one portal faces technical issues.

Multiple Modes of Operation

The E-Way Bill 2 Portal supports both web and API modes, catering to various user preferences and technical requirements. Whether you prefer a web interface or API integration, the portal meets your needs.

Seamless Login Experience

Users can access the E-Way Bill 2 Portal with their existing login credentials from the main portal. This streamlined access eliminates the need for multiple sets of credentials.

Reliability During Technical Glitches

In case of technical issues affecting the main portal, the E-Way Bill 2 Portal serves as a reliable alternative. This redundancy ensures uninterrupted e-way bill operations.

Criss-Cross Operations

The E-Way Bill 2 Portal allows the printing and updating of Part-B of e-way bills across both portals. For example, you can update Part-B of an e-way bill generated on the main portal using the E-Way Bill 2 Portal, and vice versa. This interoperability enhances flexibility and convenience.

Handling Non-Operational Main Portal

If the main portal is non-operational due to technical reasons, users can still update Part-B of e-way bills generated on the main portal using the E-Way Bill 2 Portal. Both portals will maintain synchronized e-way bill slips, ensuring compliance and operational continuity.
