Quick Guide Aadhaar & Document Verification for GST Registration in 4 States

If you are registering for GST Registration in Bihar, Delhi, Karnataka, or Punjab, the process has changed. These changes make the verification faster and more secure. Here’s a brief look at what you need to know.

Key Updates:

1.Biometric Aadhaar Authentication: Applicants are now identified using biometric-based Aadhaar authentication. This includes a photograph and verification of the original documents uploaded during registration.

2.Expanded Coverage: The new process was introduced on September 6, 2024. It now applies to Bihar, Delhi, Karnataka, and Punjab.

What You Need to Do:

After submitting your GST registration application, you’ll get an email with one of two options:

1.Option 1: A link for OTP-based Aadhaar authentication. You can complete this process digitally.

2.Option 2: A link to book an appointment for biometric authentication and document verification at a GST Suvidha Kendra (GSK).

For the Appointment:

If you need to visit the GSK, make sure you bring:

  • The appointment confirmation email
  • Aadhaar Card and PAN Card (Original)
  • The original documents uploaded with your application
Finish Your Application:

Make sure to complete the biometric authentication within the given time. This will help generate your Application Reference Number (ARN). GSK hours vary by state, so plan accordingly.
